Your Guide To Reduce The Signs Of Aging And Look Years Younger

It would be nice if we could do away with the signs of aging and look many years younger. Here are the secrets.

As you get up there in years, certain problems are going to crop up and one of them is wrinkles. They can be most visible around your eyes, forehead, cheeks and neck. You can get downright discouraged and even depressed when you look into a mirror. Don't worry, there are solutions.

Maybe you cannot stop time from marching on, but you can reduce the signs of the aging process and look better than ever. Here is what happens and some points to keep in mind.

What Causes Fine Lines? As a person ages, the skin undergoes significant changes. The inner layer of the skin begins to thin and the cells begin to divide more slowly. Fat cells begin to lessen or die beneath the dermis.

The collection of collagen fibers and elastin which provide a sort of scaffolding for the surface layer begin to come apart. Skin then loses its flexibility. It tends to sag and creates furrows.

The sweat glands wear out and become dry and scaly and facial lines develop. Gravity makes the situation worse and contributes to the formation of drooping eyelids and jowls. Also, eyebrows tend to move up as someone ages perhaps because of forehead wrinkles and the skin has less of an ability to repair itself so wounds heal more slowly.

There are other forces at play that can make your skin suffer, such as :

1. The sun damages collagen fibers and causes an accumulation of abnormal elastin. Metalloproteinases, or enzymes, are produced that are able to repair most of the damage, however, it is this repetition of the rebuilding process that is done over and over again that causes skin problems.

2. The sun's UV radiation promotes oxidation. This also leads to the development of skin abnormalities.

3. Cigarette smoking causes the thickening and fragmentation of elastin, reduces circulation and the amount of oxygen that is supplied to the skin, and leads to less Collagen formation and reduced water content in the skin. Lastly, smoking reduces the chances that the skin is able to fend off free radicals causing cell damage.

4. Air pollution. Ozone may be a problem for the skin. It may cause a reduction of Vitamin E in the skin which is an important antioxidant.

5. Fast weight loss. This can cause fine lines since it reduces the volume of fat cells which cushion the face. This will cause the skin to sag.

6. Heredity. You may have inherited some skin characteristics from your parents.

Wrinkles are the most visible signs of aging. As tissues sag, these lines form a type of canvas that is covered with cracks that have varying depths. As time goes by, they deepen and reach the dermis. As the dermis loses its elasticity, it becomes slack which leads to the formation of more pronounced wrinkles over 0.05 mm in depth.

Here is the normal progression of wrinkles characterized by age group:

From twenty to twenty five, vertical wrinkles on one's forehead and even between the eyebrows may already be visible. Fine lines at the external edges of the eyes are not yet noticeable.

In the twenty five to forty age range, wrinkles start to become a reality. But, they are less than 0.0005 mm in depth. They are caused by the superficial drying out of one's skin as well as the slowing down of cellular renewal.

And from forty to fifty, slowly the skin will lose its cutaneous substance. Deeper wrinkles as well as laughter lines now reach the dermis where they are greater than 0.5 microns in depth. The skin loses it elasticity and the facial contours are not less well defined.

For those that have reached fifty years of age or older, hormonal secretions end as menopause appears and this accelerates the aging process. The skin's surface begins to modify and intermediary lines are replaced by ever deepening furrows.

The older you become, the more wrinkles you get. You can minimize this damage by taking good care of your skin.

Wrinkle Treatments: here are a few promising remedies for sagging skin. There are some new wrinkle creams and topical lotions, like Avotone or Revitol, that contain natural ingredients that may help lessen this problem. For example:

1. Argireline - this is a safer alternative to Botox. It is not derived from any poisonous substance, but from naturally occurring amino acids. This element relaxes facial tension because it is able to reduce the excessive release of neurotransmitters which are also known as catecholamines. These make your facial muscles become tense. If your muscles are not tense, they do not contribute to wrinkles. Also, it may slow down the degeneration of elastin and collagen which normally occurs with aging.

2. Dermox SRC - this is a specially tested serum that helps to control wrinkles, increases the synthesis of collagen, and repairs the skin's surface.

3. DMAE - it has been indicated that this antioxidant is able to function as a cell membrane stabilizing agent. It reinforces the skin's foundation of elastin and collagen, makes cells live longer, and helps avoid cell dehydration. It may also assist in the healing of scars, which includes acne scars, and promotes the flushing out of too much lipofuscin from skin cells reducing age spots.

How Can You Minimize Fine Lines and Wrinkles?

There are several things you can do to reduce the wrinkles that you already have and minimize future occurences. These include:

-Avoid the sun or always use sunscreen
-Do not smoke
-Use a very good topical anti-wrinkle cream
-Drink plenty of water
-Eat an abundance of vegetables and fruits
-Exercise.

By doing these things, you will be taking important steps to help maintain a youthful appearance while reducing the onset of wrinkles.

The Do or Die of Dermatology

Those of you who do not have bad skin, stop reading this. Well, keep reading if you want to, but for those of you who suffer from bad skin, please, read on. Dermatology sounds like a term intended solely for professionals with a degree. While that can most often be the case, anyone who has an interest in maintaining their skin, especially troublesome skin, should take it upon themselves to learn more about their unending life condition.

The study of dermatology concerns the knowledge, diagnosis, and treatment of skin disorders. "Disorders" seems to infer a rare or uncommon diagnosis; but plenty of long-time suffers know better. And while the study of dermatology might not be all that applicable to the average person without a degree, the average person can still play a large part in their own cure by being preventive about it. Treatment of your own skin is a matter best left to a trained professional; but no excuses stand for a lack of knowledge and from leading a preventative lifestyle. The so-called "Do or Die" of dermatology stems from a do or die attitude.

These are the several well-rounded tips that can be applied to a variety of different skin types. True, skin types vary from dry to oily, but these tips should be swallowed as general principle, and to at least be taken into consideration.

When it comes to washing your face, splash with cold water first. This will close any vulnerable pores; as the friction caused by rubbing your face can let in surface oils. Then use lukewarm water to rub away dirt, oil, and sweat. And last, splash with more cold water, to close up those pores. This practice of cold water versus warm can be applied to other aspects such as bathing or showering. Regulate between the temperatures in accordance to your own skin type. Dry skin can be prevented with cooler water, and vice versa. This tip is essential to balanced skin.

With that, it can be said that bad skin gets triggered in two different, and preventable, ways. Stress. Not psychological stress, which has not been proven, but physical stress. Heat and sweat will cause pores to dilate and clog in less natural ways than, say, secreted oils. Aside from the sweat, dilated pores allow outside germs and toxins to easily seep inside. This will either add to the bacteria, or will in effect clog a pore. Clogged pores make up the second trigger to irritated skin. It is not enough to simply wash skin, but effort must be made in exfoliating it as well. The irony stems from the fact that clogged pores tend to derive out of rough skin; but rough skin generally comes from over-exfoliation. Again, balance it out according to your own skin type.

Inevitably, the matter of food comes into play. The fact stands that no studies have accurately proven that a person's diet will cause an outbreak of bad skin; but what people tend to overlook are their own traits as individuals. Allergies. Allergic reactions can spur a variety of consequences. Keep track of what gets eaten, and how it may or may not correlate to the way your skin looks the following morning. So while studies of chocolate have not proven it to cause breakouts, close scrutiny of your own bodily reaction may prove otherwise.

So it pays to be your own dermatologist. But like any other disorder, problems with the skin can worsen if left untreated and undiagnosed. Part of knowing your own skin is knowing when you need help.

Know more on your skin types

Dry Skin Types - Dry skin is caused by under or inactive oil glands that do not produce enough sebum to keep the skin naturally lubricated. It usually has a dull appearance, feels dry and itchy and is sometimes sensitive. Dry skin must be hydrated regularly from the inside (with fresh water) and outside with (mists), as well as moisturized with rich hydrating creams or lotions.

Oily Skin Types - Oily skin is caused by glands that produce too much sebum, resulting in skin that has a greasy slippery texture, appears shiny and is frequently has large, clogged pores.

Sensitive Skin Types - Sensitive skin can be dry, normal, or oily and is characterized by delicacy which is why we feel it is more of a skin condition than a skin type. It frequently reacts adversely to environmental conditions and often requires special treatment in order to remain in good condition.

Combination skin - This type of skin is very common. As the name suggests, it is a combination of both oily and dry skin with certain areas of the face oily and the rest dry. Usually there is a Central greasy panel consisting of the forehead, nose and chin and a dry panel consisting of cheeks and the areas around the eyes and mouth.

Normal Skin - It has a fine even texture with a supple and smooth surface. It has a proper balance between oil and moisture contents and is therefore moist and neither greasy nor dry.

Supplying those cells with essential oils, hydrating components and nourishing molecules ensures that they remain vibrant, healthy and firm. Nutritional supplements do just that with a plethora of essential fatty acids from flaxseed oil, fish oil and borage oil. Such nutritional supplements and vitamins will supply added protection and healing power to the cells of the skin causing those worrisome wrinkles to smooth out and disappear over time. Your health can only be enhanced.

Wobbly buttocks

Your face is not the only area of the skin to show signs of sagging and aging, though. Wobbly thighs, floppy triceps and wrinkles on your necklines are reminders that the years are moving ahead whether we want them to or not. So, take some time each day to work on toning and firming those tell-tale signs of aging. And keep your vitamin A and Vitamin E levels topped up.

Water to hydrate your skin

Be sure to keep your body hydrated each and every day. That requires drinking pure, fresh water on a regular basis throughout the day, not just at dinner time! Water is considered by many to be the liquid gold of good health and vibrant skin. Show your healthy skin off this year by making a pledge to drink more water.

Cellulite relief

Nutritional supplements and vitamins keep underlying cellulite in place rather than bubbling up through the skin, hydrate the interior of the cells and revitalize the overall appearance of the skin. The ingredients in this product are meant to firm and tone the interior and exterior of the skin leaving your skin firm, tone, and radiant. Within no time, your overall health and your skin will be healthier if you take the right nutritional supplements and vitamins.

Self-confidence is pure asset. It is developed through the years. It is acquired based from how a person is brought up and with what he or she has. Generally, physical appearance has a great deal to do with one’s regard of himself or herself. Innumerable spas differ with their packaging and presentation on how a specific service is done. There are some companies and firms that offer discounted rates for a particular service or provide a reasonably priced service package for their clients. Their marketing strategies vary. But most facial skin care treatments are done with an enzyme peel, green tea, vitamin E, and beta-carotene. Usually, a mixture of mask and an anti-oxidant serum to detoxify and tighten the skin follows the procedure.

However, facial skin care treatments are not solely for women alone, but for men too. In fact, there are a lot of male clients getting pampered at resort spas and derma clinics. Men’s facial treatments usually begin with deep cleansing. This addresses men’s particular need for their skin like irritation, ingrown hairs, and razor burns. The normal treatment session includes pore cleansing by the use of steam. After which, exfoliation and a relaxing massage will follow. After any treatment, creams or moisturizing gel or lotion is applied on the skin surface for soft, smooth and clean.

If not done at home, these treatments can really be expensive. But who says beauty is earned without a price? You may have to spend a few dollars but it’s all worth it in the end. This can be one of the best investments you will have to make. Many people specifically the young are in the lookout for ways to boost up their self-confidence. What To Do About Whiteheads

Sometimes when you get up in the morning and look in the mirror you might see these little white bumps on your face. What are they? Where did they come from? And how on earth do you get rid of them?? This article will enlighten you as to the proper methods of treatment for these not-so-mysterious little white bumps.

These white bumps that you might find appearing on your face from time to time, are called milia. They giant amounts of protein under the skin that appear as cysts. This may sound very intimidating, but worry not. There are two types of these cysts. The first type is the kind that appear on the skin as a result of under-developed, oily skin. The second type is when they appear on the skin as a direct result of some sort of trauma that was suffered.

Just because you get these white bumps on your skin does not necessarily mean that you have acne. They are bumps on the skin that have no pores.

Whiteheads are basically the extra waste your skin produces that get trapped in a follicle of hair which they clog up. The difference being that the milia are just excess amount of protein trapped underneath the skin while the whiteheads are just excess fat clogged up in a pore of your skin.

To get rid of these little white bumps, it's best to exfoliate the skin, meaning getting rid of all the dead skin cells that have an adverse effect on the skin. You can do this by using a powerful chemical agent or other product that is on the market. If you wash or scrub your skin too much then that might actually lead to whiteheads popping up. When you exfoliate, be gentle and treat your skin properly.

Exfoliating your skin is bringing down layers and make it thinner, so it's very important to make sure you are doing it in a gentle and caring way. You're aim is to prevent and treat the build-up of whiteheads, not to keep them coming.

Whiteheads usually pop up at birth within the first few days, or in some cases people inherit the tendency to getting whiteheads through their parents. One controversial cause of the build-up of whiteheads is damaging over-exposure to the sun.

To avoid getting these nasty break-outs of whiteheads, make sure you limit your sun exposure and if you have them surround the optical region, then there are lotions and creams you can use.

These build-ups can also be the symptom of a larger medical problem, so if you have excessive trouble, be sure to check with your doctor.

Quick Cures for Dry Skin

When a person's skin becomes dry, the top layers of the skin are damaged and dying. It may feel rough to the touch, tight, and even sore, and most of all it won't look healthy. Although there are many causes of dry skin, most of the time it is down to lack of basic skin care and environmental factors which are to blame.

There is no magical instant fix or quick cure for dry skin other than to begin taking the best care of your skin right away. If you follow the advice in this article and begin taking the best care of your skin, any damaged or dry skin ought to heal and become much healthier within a few weeks to a month and you will really notice a difference in how your skin looks and feels.

Skin usually becomes dry because of a lack of sebum. Sebum is the natural protective oils which the skins pores secrete to protect our skin from the elements. If the production of sebum drops off, particularly if our diets aren't good, or as we get older, our skin can become increasingly dry as our skin finds it increasingly difficult to retain moisture and grow healthy. The key to keeping skin healthy is to give it as much of a helping hand in as many ways as possible.

You can do this by:

Moisturising regularly, particularly after bathing or shaving will help protect your skin from the elements, keep it soft supple and moist. Moisturising is particularly important before going out in the cold, as this is where the most damage usually occurs.
Bathing properly without excessively hot water, flannels and harsh shower gels or soaps. The above combination can wash and scrub the sebum oils from the skin almost completely, leaving your skin completely vulnerable to drying. The idea is to bath to clean, but work with your skin, not against it. Use lukewarm water, a skin friendly soap such as Dove or Olay, and avoid scrubbing utilities. The same goes for drying with a towel, pat yourself dry don't scrub.
Using a humidifier whilst you have central heating on can help to prevent the central heating from drying out your skin. This is perhaps one of the biggest reasons so many people suffer from bad skin during the winter, even if they don't go out of the house much.
Eating a good diet is all important. You're skin can only be as good as the nutrients your body supplies it with, after all. Eating a good balanced diet with plenty of Vitamin A, B and C and sulphur minerals will make your skin much healthier.

Stretch Mark Prevention for the Human Body

The human body is a complex system. Most of the time the body functions without much intervention from its owner. It does, however, require the correct ingredients to function correctly. When there is a problem it is often indicated externally - this is the case with stretchmarks.

There is very little that you can do to prevent stretchmarks that result from your genetic makeup. However, stretch mark prevention is possible when its cause is related to hormonal imbalance. The following are some easy tips for stretch mark prevention.

Do not gain or lose weight rapidly. If your body changes its physical composition too quickly, all the processes may not function properly. In relation to stretchmarks this means collagen and elastin may not be produced fast enough. These elements are essential for keeping your skin flexible and smooth.

Keep your body hydrated. You have undoubtedly heard it before, but there is never too much information on the benefit of drinking water. Water helps to prevent stretch marks by helping the body stay moisturized. There are constant debates over the amount of water an individual should consume. The best indicator is your urine. Urine that is close to colorless is an indication that you are well hydrated. You should drink many glasses of water per day. Also, try to ensure that it is pure water as some flavored waters have additives and colorings that take away from the quality of the water.

Exercise. Daily exercise is just as important as staying hydrated. The two work together to keep your body free of toxins. Exercise will also keep your body well toned and keep excess fat at bay. Strength training is a good method for toning, but a daily walk is all that is necessary for many people to stay in good health.

Moisturize your skin. Applying a moisturizer helps to keep your skin supple and smooth. You want to use products with natural ingredients. Stretch mark prevention oil is available from many retailers - try and get recommendations from friends before buying. Pregnant women are susceptible to strechmarks and a moisturizer with natural ingredients assures the mother that no harm will come to her baby as a result of using the product. Many mothers recommend using a natural product such as cocoa butter.

When you take care of your body it will take care of you. As long as you nourish your body and keep it healthy you should be able to minimize stretchmarks, even from pregnancy and childbirth.
